'94 960 3ltr intermittant misfire.

Post by father ted »

Have been experiencing a misfire at high and low revs. It lasts only a moment but comes with a Lambda light on. The OBD gives me a 3-1-4 fault code which refers to the camshaft position sensor. I have put in new plugs and a set of coil packs which were known to be good. I am reluctant to fit a new camshaft sensor retailing at about £100 if there is a possibility of it being something else.I have had learned men saying check the wiring loom, check the oxygen sensor, fuel pressure etc but to no avail. Has anyone else out there had a similar problem who might point me in the right direction. It has been regularly serviced and has 131k on the clock. Thanks.
