trunk won't open

The hydraulic on the driver side broke and is still hanging there now it is hanging the trino so that it won't open I need a fix I have 100 dollars of groceries in there

Can you get access by removing the rear seats?
I have a wagon, so I don't know but I'd take a look at that.

Did you look above the license plate next to the button you press to open the trunk normally? Some volvos have a plastic plug with a picture of a key on it. Twist the plug out and there is a keyhole for the master, not the valet key to get your trunk open.

Ok, I can into the trunk, but why doesn't it open the right way? I can hear the two thunks when I unlock it, but when I push the release button over the license, instead of a groan and thunk it just makes a faint "tic". What's broke, and how do I get at it to fix it?
