The brakes on my 1996 Volvo 850R are in rough shape. Rather than purchase stock replacements, I was thinking about upgrading to larger brakes using the following FCP kit:
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... 0ultkit302
However, they are out of stock - not sure when this kit would be available again.
Does anyone have suggestions as to how I could create my own kit like this? It looks like they are simply using rotors, pads, caliper brackets, etc from a Volvo with larger brakes. If I knew which Volvo model I am sure I could piece together my own kit.
Volvo 850R brake upgrade ideas?

Doubtful it will be available again, try reaching out to FCP. I believe production of the caliper bracket (for the 302 rotors) was cut.

Ben, I think they are available again. They were out of stock at most places, but suddenly they seem to have resurfaced. I just bought brand new ones 2 weeks ago in Germany. They had like 40 sets back when I ordered (after being out of them for months).
I just redid the front and rear brakes on my 850, all ATE parts and upgraded to 302 up front. In my opinion this is a totally different car now as far as the brakes go. The old ones were still decent but spongy, now it reacts faster and decelerates firm and nicely. I will install braided brake lines up front soon. Just stick with OEM Quality.

The 302mm brakes, as far as I know, consist of the brackets and 302mm rotors. Same calipers, pads, etc. as stock. From what I've heard, the brackets are no longer in production but who knows, they might come back.

I guess they must have been reproduced. Why would otherwise large quantities resurface.
But some US-Volvo Dealers still have them in stock. Googeling the parts number throws a few online-stores that carry them.

I've been looking for part number 8251319 for the caliper bracket that allows you to upgrade the 280 mm rotors to 302 mm rotors. I'm having a hard time finding that part number. Is it possible that there is another part number for the same bracket? For example, I was at a parts website where I looked up a 2000 C70 with the 2.3 engine. The part number they list for the caliper bracket is 8111121. My gut tells me that a 2000 C70 with a T5 would have the 302mm rotors and therefore the 8111121 should work???

8251319 is the correct part number. There was another one that came with a zinc-plated coating but it now supercedes to this one. Not available in the U.S. and wasn't available in Europe either until recently again. Volvo did a small batch to send out to some of their dealers and major parts suppliers. It's currently backordered waiting for another batch to be done in Sweden.

There was another P/N, but it ended in 56. 8251319 is the correct number for the 302mm bracket.

I am hitting dead ends at every turn trying to find the 302mm bracket. I noticed a listing for a 320mm rotor for a 2000 C70. I wonder if finding a caliper bracket for that size rotor would be easier. I am planning to run 17" Volans on this car. Not sure if 320mm rotors would even work with those rims...

Big Will knows this story very well, his post explains why. You will likely have to wait until they are available in Europe, and buy them from there.
I don't think 320s work, there are many big brake devotees over at Volvospeed but I have never heard of anyone using 320s.
