My brother and I recently acquired a 1993 240 wagon that had been sitting for about 2 years. We replaced the battery, ignition cap and rotor, we cleaned the MAF sensor, distributor shaft, the connection points on the ignition wires that go from the ignition coil to the cap. We replaced the spark plugs and gaped them to .03. We can hear the fuel pump in the rear working and we verified that fuel is getting through the fuel pressure regulator. The neutral safety switch is new as well. When we turn the key to the on position you can hear the igntion coil clicking so we believe that is in working order. When we attempt to start it, the car cranks and the exhaust smells like fuel if you get near the exhaust tip but it doesn't fire up.
Searching got us to where we are and we're running out of ideas, maybe we aren't asking the right questions. New ideas as far as troubleshooting or what we should replace would be great. Thanks.
