00 V70R AWD ME7 cutting out under load

Post by gmtgmt »

I have a problematic one in the shop,

Its a Lazer blue 2000 V70R AWD.

I Replaced the engine in december for the customer, ( the lower balancer came of and pulled the lower cam gear off, 2 head bolts snaped while removing the head. New used engine was in order insted of a new head)

Since then i have delt with alot problems with this thing.

It uses coolent.
3 Coils went bad, 2 after 5 weeks and 1 after a mounth
1 injector went bad caused a misfire underload and it threw a code for it also.

It cutting out under load when climbing a small hill or just accelerating over 3000-4000rpm (underload)

I have just replaced the Head and gasket as it was cracked badly on the new engine, (covered byt wreaker warrenty) No more coolent loss and compression is fine and even on all cylinders,

The VVT is woring and correctly installed. used a Volvo cam locking Tool.

I have tryed another working MAF, TCV and just ran the vacum line from the turbo to the Waste gate. Nothing changes,

its not throwing any codes. I have Vida to check for codes.

Any suggestion.

All hoses are fine it got a IPD Intercooler and Rip kit

ECU is not flashed and its AW5055 trans

cutting out under load used to be a coil symptom I the old days. You said one injector failed, Are you using the originals, or from the replacement engine? Can you do a test run with torque or some other data-logging software to look at fuel and spark histories? I would bet on poor spray pattern from a dirty injector, or a coil that isn't quite right, but not bad enough to throw a code. (because you say the TCV is checked)

I First replaced the faulty injector nr 3
i have since tryed the other 4. with 4 brand new once i had laying around for a project, These are the Green ones
Fuel filter is not very old.

I have one of those cheap Scan tools that uses Andriod app Tourqe so i can try that

no the only got the engine no accerories.
Injectors, Turbo, Coils and everything else is the customers from the original engine

I rerouted the Wastegate Hose from the TCV to the turbo housing, and the turbo housing hose to the wastegate port of the TCV Same problem .

Its really like fish biting when going up a grade.

How old is the turbo control valve? 150kkm or more, it might be worth replacing it.

Spark Plug gaps and coil grounds are other things to think about,

The sled motor acted like this for years before I finally figured it out: The TB was one tooth off on the exhaust camshaft. I paid a reputable shop to do the work, as they did front camseals, crank seal, etc. I assumed they checked it, but didn't. Finally saw a post about it, went to check mine, and there it was.

Well Guys finaly found it.

After check everything. like fuel pressure when driving. changing all 5 coils. Put a datalogger nothing was out of the odernary.
We talked about fuel Again, now the pressure was fine but what about the volume? Took my fuel gauge at the schredder valve in the fuel rail and into a 2Liters Coke bottle. even with 10 key cycles only filled like 1/10 of the bottle. took the fuel like of at rail. same deal, Down behind the engine same amount. No we moved back to the fuel filter. directly at fuel filter same. and before the filter. we know where looking at the pump.
behind the plastic sheild we found a "new pump" installed and the fuel like was pinced between the body and fuel tank. we lowered the tank and took at new test at the fuel rail. bingo no it filled half of the bottle with 10 cycles.

after taken it for a test drive it turned out this was the problem.

These have Walbro 100LPH pump these should put out about 1.67L at the rail. if not you have a fuel volume problem like me
