So you people won't think I am crazy, herewith background info: a set of my keys was stolen and included my car remote/key and house keys.
Yes, I have replaced all the house locks. Since the theft was from my home, I went to the dealer for a re-keying (expensive but cheaper than a new
car or destroyed one from vandalism). Anyway, dealer says that the re-key kit either includes a "trunk" lock, or that the computer says it's required.
I have not been able to convince him that there is no key access on a V70 tailgate. Am I wrong or is there a hidden one? I know I do not have one on my 1999 V70 but did have one on my 1998 V70. Some help from somebody, please! My thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply, nsjames. My point is that whoever stole the key lives in this area and if 'he' gets into the car and finds that the key won't start it, chances are the interior and even under the hood might get torn apart, defecated upon, or whatever. I already on my options with the dealer and this
being my wife's car - and I agree - we do not want anyone getting into the car even if they can't start it.
Thanks again.

All new locks, keys and programming will cost you a small fortune.
Stop worrying about the (no) hatch key, that's the least of your problems.
