Today,I noticed something odd regarding the steering column housing on my '01. It can be twisted back and forth a few degrees.
It the part that surrounds the column and holds the wiper stalk, turn signal stalk, ignition switch and plastic trim.
The tilt mechanism and the column itself is tight.
It's not the end of the world, and it may have been like this for years, but now that I know about it, it's kind of annoying.
Any thoughts on how to tighten it up?

My 2002 V40 does the same thing. Moves from left to right and noticeable when you use the indicator stalk for turning.
Has done this the entire time I have owned the vehicle and seems to be no problem.

After removing the column housing, I'm still not sure how it would be tightened up.
And I agree that there does not seem to be any problem or safety issue. It just bothers me that it's not tight.
