Replacing master cylinder, I came across 2 plastic (nylon) 'hoogies' in the inlets where the reservoir installs.
Anyone know what these are and their importance / function?
Disc bottom w/ 3 holes(ports) and a post sticking up towards reservoir.
Rebuilt Cardone doesn't come with them,so.....

Are the pieces you're referring to shown in the image below?

Nope. Are you referring to reservoir 'nipples' for ABS feed? Or a clutch.
I'm talking about inside master, they are under rubber seals for res and protrude up through and into reservoir 'pipes'.
FCP sent me a PDF blowup. #8 for those with VADIS,etc.
I've come to believe, that they are in there to prevent "bottoming" out of res tubes into Master.That would hinder flow,possibly stopping it altogether.
They help fluid 'feed' into it, hence the 3 port holes in bottom disc.
My reasoning,anyway.

FYI: Volvo dealer printed out Factory info sheet on brake hydraulic system.
"The brake fluid reservoir connectors have >safety valves< which are normally open. If the reservoir comes loose(?), the safety valves will shut to prevent brake fluid escaping".
I personally don't see how they could work that way, since they have 3 holes in the bottom disc...?
A puzzler for sure.
