Extended Road Trip Precautions?

Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.

1992 - 1997 850, including 850 R, 850 T-5R, 850 T-5, 850 GLT
1997 - 2000 S70, S70 AWD
1997 - 2000 V70, V70 AWD
1997 - 2000 V70-XC
1997 - 2004 C70

Oooohhh , for this drive, you should have used the rental money on a nice P80 T5 instead! :D

900 miles for 140 bucks - you probably were pretty even with running the Volvo in terms of cost - and you probably saved a bit in gas with the NB.

I would have taken the P80 just for the seats, though.

Glad it went well, and The Admiral outranks the Captain.

So the ultimate road trip precaution is to leave the P80 at home and rent a VW Beetle?? :lol:

Since the P80 seats are one of the reasons we hang on to these old cars, I guess our precaution is packing our clothes in carry-ons in case we need to fly home.

Sadly that ended up being biggest precaution :lol: . Given the choice though, I'd have never taken a Beetle--maybe Corolla or Mazda 3. Who buys those things?
