Volvo Adrastea with 302mm discs

Post by Clemens »

Since I´m having a hard time finding 16inchers here that I can run with my 302mm discs (alot of columbas, but I don´t wanna grind down the calipers) I´m thinking of using the Adrasteas I have on my 854 as winter tire rims for my 855 R and put something like Columbas on the 854 with the small rotors.

Does anyone know if they will clear the 302mm Setup?

Probably not - Adrasteas aren't usable on newer V70 T5s ('05 ->) in Europe, for example, because they use the larger discs...

2018 S90 T8 Inscription - glossy black with amber interior and dark as night rear windows.
[Gone] '96 855 T5 - R bumper and spoiler, Koni Yellows & blue H&R springs all 'round.

[Gone] '95 855 T5-R - one of the black ones... sadly stolen and wrecked.

yeah, I came across that info too, but kinda hoped that that the later V70 T5s used larger than 302 mm discs.

my other option is getting another set of Volans, but I doubt 205/45 R17 is much fun to drive in winter. Unless I drop them way below 2 bar pressure ;-)

I had 17 inch Titans on my old T5-R, and the same in winter.... I didn't mind that, but I did drive it mostly on salted roads, so they didn't really see much of a challenge. :)

i had a bit time today and both our volvos at home so i finally decided to try the adrasteas on my R. I can confirm that they fit with the 302 mm rotors on my R. Went for a very short testride and since nothing rubs i guess it will work. Just in case someone comes across this in the future.

Fantastic, this post helped me remember I don't have to buy 17 inch wheels for my 94 T5M to mount semi slicks for track days onto. I just have to find my adrasteas. I bet they help the brakes stay as hot as possible on the Nürburgring next summer.
