My lovely wife damaged the skid plate on the 97 850, it's the one that runs about 2 feet, and its adjacent to the trans and lower mount. I hope the dealer still sells it.

My question is, do s70 come with it. For whatever reason it's not present on my 98 S70. I'm not the original owner
So maybe it was removed? Can someone please check, you just need to look under the car. It runs lengthwise (front to back)
I may have to buy two

Thanks

I think you're talking about the air guide...it's plastic right and not the big metal one that is posted above?
Actually, if that's what you're talking about FCPEuro sells them...Uro makes a cheaper version and it's actually not bad for the price.
Yes, your car should have one- it helps direct the air up under the engine and also holds the ambient temperature sensor.

I guess skid plate is not the correct word for the part. Not sure what it is called but its neither the splash shield or skid plate.

Lets call it the Protector Bar as see in the red circle. She scraped a curb so it is dual layered and the outer layer sheered two of the pins.
Please advise

Is it a plastic cover strip protecting the fuel lines? It is hard to tell, and as I have an AWD it would be on the 'wrong' side for my car, but maybe correct for a FWD. Does it have maybe 6 plastic screw heads along the length of it? If so it may be just the mountings that have been damaged.

They are a 2 part item. The first part screws over metal threads coming down from the floor. The second part with the screw head clips into the plastic rail and then screws into the fist part to hold the cover in place.

Part #'s:

1) Rail: # 9142740

2) Ring (part that fixes to floor stud) : # 9141191

3) Nut (screw head part that clips into rail cover) : # 9141192

Hope this helps,

Neil.

Sorry thats not it, it is at the front of the car near the transmission and protects some steel lines.

Here is a pic from online, but it is missing the guard just like my S70. I drew what the guard looks like in RED.
I'm really confused, why my 850 has it but not the S70. I see it protects those steel lines.

Interesting, because I have never seen or owned a P80 car with a cover that covers those 2 lines. Never knew that existed.

A real skid plate would protect them though.

Agree- never seen that!

Like wise, can't recall seeing one on my 93 850 NA either. My P80's never had this. I'm guessing those are the power steering lines?

Can't see anything obvious for this on Vida either for a 97 850. Under guard plates there s something that may be what you are talking about, but it is no longer listed as a part number or description.

PnP my friend?

Yes those are the PS lines, but none of my P80's every had anything covering them either.

mecheng I would be interested to see a pic of what's on your car if you get a chance to snap it.
