Volvo s40 1.6D - Buyers guide

Hi

I am new to the forum and apologies if i have posted in the wrong section. WOW, this forum a true credit to the owners,moderators and contributors for making this forum a community orientated club

I am looking to become a Volvo convert

. I was wondering if anyone has a buyers guide on the sort of things to look out for when buying a 2010+ volvo S40 1.6D Diesel?

Would i be correct in saying that a Peugeot engine has been planted into a Volvo S40 1.6D Diesel?

What year did volvo introduce a face lift on their S40 1.6D?

Yes, you are in the earlier model section of the S40. I'm moving this to the newer section (ghost thread will still remain so you can find it!!).

I'm not aware of a buyer's guide. Also, you're interested in a diesel. We hardly have those here in the States. I think the main thing is that it's been well maintained with service records...oil changed regularly... no bad seals for leaks...the suspension is tight...low as miles as you can afford. Maybe others will chime in as they would know that car and I don't. You guys in Europe are a year different with what we have here.. In the states the "face lift" happened for model year 2008. I assume that it would be 2007 for you there.
