TOTAL PCV System Removal

Post by loshax »

Hey guys!

Ive just red about PCV system, and realized that it can cause a lot of problems...

Is it possible to get rid of that system? Make it just like 70's car? Possibly it would also help for performance if the components for bang in the cylinders would be just clean air and fuel, and not reused gases?

Feel free to corect me if im blabaring something wrong ;)

I read about some guy who passed a hose between the top engine hole and the lower block hole. Not sure if that does anything? I wonder if plugging all top engine and block holes would be a bypass. Chances are the car won't pass emission tests any long.

Without a working Positive Crankcase Ventilation, you'll have even more problems.

Use synthetic oil and change it often, PCV won't bother you until hoses begin to crack (but by then every hose under hood will be brittle).

sure you can delete it.

Then you'll need a catch can to capture the oil vapors. your car will smell terrible anytime it's running. The lack of vacuum in the crankcase will lead to your oil becoming nasty very quickly as the condensate builds and isn't removed.
and the metered air leak from the PCV system

this is what a draft tube looks like, and before PCV/CCV systems this is what you got to smell in traffic

keep the PCV system, fix it and do regular maintenance and it won't be problematic.
