2002 V70 T5

Post by SamHouston »

Good evening. I am new to this, so please bear with me if I dont use SOP. I own a 2002 V70 T5 that has been problem free for 3 years. The Service Engine System Required message appeared and my dealer says that It will need a electric part in the throttle body. Estimated cost is $900.00. The car has spurterde twice in 2 weeks. Any advice?

That sounds about right for the first-time failure of a Bosch throttle module. Your car *does not* have the recalled Magnetti Marelli ETM (only naturally aspirated 2002 V70s had that part). Instead, it has throttle module part number 8677866, a Bosch throttle. A software download is not necessary on that part, just a throttle adaptation command being sent from VIDA.
