C30 fuel shut off after collision

I have bought two C30 1.6 petrol/gas 2010 models recently, both damaged in collisions. One has both front airbags and the other has the left side curtain airbag deployed. Both cars would crank but not run, so I traced this to the fuel pump not running and closed the fuel pump relay manually, after which both cars run. After the "Airbag Service Required" message as well as the airbag warning light was reset using a Launch the car still fails to energise the fuel pump relay by itself. If the relay is held closed for five or ten seconds after starting it remains energized and the car runs fine; barring a very distinct dip in idle speed about four seconds after start up, even while holding the relay engaged.

I've not replaced the airbag control module, nor has it been reprogrammed. The Launch shows no faults at all except fuel pump circuit after the car stalls from low fuel pressure. All airbags and seat belts are in order and show no fault. The airbag controller also shows no faults. I've tried other relays, no changes.

Does the airbag controller need to be replaced after airbag deployment? Or does it need to be reprogrammed or is there something else that needs to be reset?

I think a call to the dealer may be in order. If I remember from some previous reading, whenever one of the newer year Volvo's is in an accident, one of the first things that occurs is that the ECU immediately cuts fuel off so as not to cause a potentially hazardous fire in the engine bay. I think it is possible that the Airbag lights not being reset and the fuel cut-off are related. Of course, I could be wrong, but thinking about it, it makes perfect sense.
