So once in a while I go to one of the larger local auctions for fun and if there is an interesting car(s) for sale. I'm not allowed to buy any on fear of death!
Anyway, today sat in the far corner of the yard (and I do mean the furthest up against a wire fence) was a poor old 1999 V70 wagon with a bullet riddled front end, actually lots and lots of stone damaged and a broken wind-shield. I was told that they hadn't been able to start it as the battery was dead and they didn't know if it ran. So no way to check engine lights etc.....!
I was interested to see if they could get it going and what it would sell for. They got it running (roughly) and sure enough a bright orange check light on. Sounded like it was running on 4 cylinders.
Car went through the auction for $300 CDN!! (About $240 US).
I would have chanced it if I could have had a chance to run Dice on it but again with no battery charge that doesn't work.
Oh well, hopefully they buyer can do something with it other than part it out.
Neil.
