broken sunroof glass

Hello..I broke the glass in the sunroof with the sunroof in the 1/2 open position, after cleaning up the glass I was going to start removing whats left of the glass panel but the sunroof wont close past 1/2 way so I can get to the screws from the inside. It will open all the way but when I try to close it it stops at almost the mid way point. I have tried doing the door locks 3 times with the key and also disconnecting the battery to reset the motor but nothing helps. Was thinking about pulling out the headliner but I really dont want to unless I have no other choice. Any help would be great so I can get this fixed and get out of the dog house. 2001 v70xc

I'm sorry for your troubles and can only imagine the dog house... I don't know about P2 sunroofs but did work on mine in my S70 once which was like a major over-haul of the glass piece and attached metal trim piece. It might be similar. At the bottom of this thread there is a section called "Similar Topics." I notice that there are posts for S40's, 850/S/V70 (first gen P80 models) and also a C70... Maybe there are enough similarities to help you with yours.
