'94 850 Overheating

Hi guys,

Need some thoughts on an issue that is happening in my 94 850.

Due to a leak I recently replaced the radiator and now the temperature holds steady at 3 o'clock. But, if the car idles for 10-15 minutes, the temperature will begin to climb and will eventually overheat. I've also replaced the thermostat so I'm wondering what the cause of this could be.

Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

When the temp rises does the radiator fan kick in? Could be that you missed a connection when you replaced the radiator or the relay is faulty.

Im with Bill, try turning on your a/c and see if the fan kicks in too.

The only other suggestion is double check on the proper installation of the thermostat. I had a similar problem and it was the thermostat..but the it wasnt a new one..just the existing old one.

Best way to see if the thermostat is working is to put your hand on the hose squeeze it (keep clear of any moving parts) and sense if there is flow to the radiator.
