97 850 NA sedan front wheel bearing brand?

Are there any aftermarket or OEM brand front wheel bearings anyone would recommend for a 97 850 NA? FCP has OE (approx. $190) or aftermarket ($90 only 2 reviews 1, good, 1 bad). Where else is recommended to purchase?

Fag is oem and the best way to go.
Skf is excellent aftermarket brand ....shoulder to shoulder with Fag.

Optimal is cheapest from all of the above and they are German brand.I don't know how much they will last.

I purchased the FAG bearings from FCP for around $120 each. Very happy with the results.

Don't forget to purchase the four torx head bolts (each side) that attach the bearing to the knuckle. They are one-time use bolts.

Nope,they are not "one-time use" bolts!
I replaced 2 sets of my front wheel bearings so far and torx bolts are still original ones.

Although the book says these are TTY bolts, I have re-used wheel bearing bolts in my BMWs many time w/o issues.
If the bolts look good, re-use them.

New bolts are about $2/each at dealer, your choice.

I usually heat the hub where it meets the bolts, this makes removal much easier.

All very good advice from all you guys. I have no illusion on this. I have tackled the axles many times and at least the old 2 bolt control arms are much easier to work with! It is not like I need a 5th car (3 drivers in the house and cover less than 12,000 miles TOTAL/year).

I'm looking at trying to make the numbers 'work' in buying a low mileage 97 850 base sedan. This is the first one I have seen in Canada without a moonroof/sunroof! Base model with only radio/cassette! I estimate with a fully functional car it is worth maybe $2500 for a low mileage base model car in good condition. Owner wants $800 for the car as-is.

Car is a Vancouver (West Coast car) so has only seen any salt for the last 3 years. It has 155,000km on it and straight body with a few marks but not much. I am ok with the 2 axles either needing new boots or replacement (RH is completely split), RH wheel bearing and control arm. What I also found was a non-functioning A/C (compressor cycles on/of and no cold air), which could be just a re-charge, or coming from a damp area we know what that may mean.......!

Also the car is sitting on old winter tires (no summer wheels/tires included), and will need a PCV service, top torque mount and windshield wiper stalk. Couldn't look at the car too much as it is in a hilly area with no hard standing to jack it up. Failure info was from a good independent repair shop.

Buying new aftermarket parts may make the numbers viable as a hobby/repair/sell on vehicle without the potential A/C and tire issues.

PnP has just got a bunch of 850's in so I'll run down there tomorrow and see if there are a good RH hub/axle assembly and LH axle and control arm. Then it is a goer. Hate to see even a base model get scrapped but has to make sense financially (the boss says!!). I believe all old Volvos need to be saved if possible!

I'll update (hopefully it sells before I make a procrastinated decision!!) if I buy it.
