tailgate spoiler mounting brackets

Post by misha »

Hi guys!
Recently,i acquired a OEM Volvo tailgate spoiler for my 850 from V70 R.As some of you know, there are two styles of mounting brackets for it.A single type and a two-piece type of mountings.
Since i got a two-piece mounting and the other half is missing i just lightly modified them in order to safely install my spoiler.

Here is the picture of how it looks:

I just cut a little u shape opening in order to bolt it with one of the existing tailgate securing bolts. In this case you will need to use a bit longer bolt with the same thread. The other type of mountings(single-type) use similiar method.
You can bent a lower side of mountings to follow the shape of hinges if you want.

Since the car got a hit at the back about 2 months ago at a parking aside of the road:

I bought tailgate with a 3rd Led stop light and rear bumper from '99 V70 which were painted professionally in a factory Standox polar white:

Also grabbed newer style side marker lights...also from '99 V70:

Bumper, tailgate spoiler and newer style side markers from '99 v70 updated the look of a car a lot.

I wonder if front bumper from V70 would fit without modifications like the rear one did.
I think that it would look absolutelly beautifull with it.....if it would fit.

Looks really sharp, nice job.
Always first off the line, while all the cool people are still staring at their phones.

Should be if the whole assembly is used, not just a cover.
I wonder how it would fit around lover part of the hood, headlights and side lights since they are also different shaped on s,v,c70 cars.

@850 lpt....it came from the factory with Persus wheels.
