2001 Volvo V70 2.4 Auto Wagon Codes

Post by Edengweiss »

Hi,

I just acquired 01' V70 wagon with 148K and it has a bunch of lights on the dash. It starts right up and I drove it around the block a few times (shifted ok, nothing really out of the ordinary). Check engine light on, ABS brake service required and bulb failure position light all indicated in message center. I purchased the car from a charitable foundation with no prior ownership info. I Went through this site and found how to activate the DTCS. Below is a list of what came up:
ABS
SRS-GOOD
TCM
ECM
AUM-GOOD
CEM
DIM-GOOD
DDM
CCM
SWM-GOOD
UEM
Others were mentioned but it stated it was "checking" with no current result.

#1.) Whats the best place to start? I dont have an OBD II reader. I took it to AutoZone to have it read and they stated it isnt ready to read yet?

Any and all help is great! The exterior and interior are both in very nice condition and I hope to soon have it on the road.

Thanks,
Eden

I'm confused- you say you read the DTC's but your list isn't really indicative of codes we typically see. It would be better to have the P codes. Autozone, you say couldn't read them so what does that mean? Anyway, I think it would be worth your while to either buy a code reader and read them yourself and (better yet), look on this site for info on VIDA and getting a Dice reader for around $100- then you can be sure of things wrong with your car- as far as codes go. Otherwise, start with the stuff that is most troubling for you in regards to this car and describe the symptoms and we'll go from there to try and help you.
