Volvo S70 Black Roof Trim

Post by AhmedS70 »

Hello guys

I have a 1999 S70 and the black roof trim is starting to wear out. The black paint on it is starting to come out. Can those be replaced. If so where can I find them.

Yes, you can replace them! I have always carefully lifted these off of a junked car at a junk yard but the age of these cars makes finding a good pair more and more difficult. If you don't mind paying for new, the are about $125 each plus shipping: http://www.tascaparts.com/auto-parts/19 ... -roof-scat

Thank you very much sir that's just what I was looking for. I have a very nice almost mint condition 1999 S70 with just under 80K miles on with that I'm planning on keeping for a long time so I don't mind spending the money for a new one. But however is there anything I need to buy with the drip molding to make them properly fit. I see that there are a bunch of other parts like the drip molding clips, Fastener, Support and Retainer. All are like $2.00 and under.

Greetings. If you want a quick fix, get a spray can of "Flexi Dip" from local auto store. My roof strips faded from sitting for a year . I used painters tape and old newspaper to mask off for overspray. Sprayed several coats. I also did lower vents near fog lights and mud flaps on front wheels. It put a lot of life back in to the trim for just $8.00. I see 850's here in town that would look a lot better if the black bumper and body trim were brought back to life . Just a budget helpful suggestion.

Yes, painting might be a good suggestion too. If you go new, buying a few clips is probably a good idea. You may break a few taking the old off. Otherwise, if you're careful, you can reuse most of them! Because these are aluminum underneath and bend easily, make sure they are in good shape when you get them. Hopefully, they will pack them in an over-sized box for this reason.
