Hi all.
I have been looking at my top engine mount and its not looking good. The rubber is quite torn.
And I can imagine it shifting and driving a lot better with some usefull rubber on it.
So I have been looking around and searching for some heavy duty top engine mount. Or just the bushing replacement.
but I find a lot of different models and types and different stories.
I found only one place wich shows me the exact original one on the picture. But I read these wear out quickly again.
So I am a bit confused now of wat to get.
I have an end '95 Volvo 850 T5, 2 litre. the bf5204ft engine. 155KW.
Does anyone maybe have a link to the right enginemount and preferably an upgraded one??
Thanks!

I tried using a polyurethane mount that was advertised as indestructible but I found the amount of vibration in the steering wheel was increased too much for my taste. Others have used the polyurethane mount and have reported that they liked it. Some have said that if your other engine mounts are worn, the amount of vibration caused by the upgraded mount will be increased.
In my case, I chose to install the OEM Volvo mount again. I bought it from FCP:
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... 70-v70-c70
One tip I read to increase the lifetime of the OEM mount was to rotate it about 10-20 degrees forwards from vertical so that some of the strain is shifted to compression/tension rather than lateral shear. That was how I installed the current mount in my car. It has been working OK for about the past 5 years.
Good luck!

+1 to all of jreed's comments. I don't know of heavy duty replacement other than polyurethane and I didn't like it. I use the OEM one he showed in the link. You could try polyurethane, they are pretty cheap and widely available e.g. eBay and super easy to install/remove, then go back to OEM if you don't like it.
I didn't know about the tilting trick. On my cars the torque mount bushings are lasting something like 3 years typically, I want to try out the rotation on the next one.

I think there are other options on the poly mounts now. Mine is a solid piece rather than two and I drilled holes in it thru-out....it's been on there 8 years or so and does add a little vibration but not as much as a 2 piece one I tried to add at one time.

Good to look at the loose piece instead of the whole mount! I got some leads.
The ipd one.

and the powerflex heavy duty one.

I didnt find a solid piece yet in some local shop. But I keep on searching now I know what to search for.

I tried the poly bushing twice, two different brand, I didn't like the extra vibrations at all. Went back to Lemforder bushings and I rather change it every year than endure the extra vibrations.
