Removing lock from child seat bottom

Post by aharres »

Does anyone know how to remove the lock from the child seat bottom? There seems to be 4 torx bolts holding the mechanism onto the back, but two of the bolts are underneath the seat cushion. Does anyone know how to remove the cushion?

Or at least does anyone know how to remove the seat cushion from the wooden panel? That's what's keeping me from getting access to the lock.

Got it! If you look on the other side of the lock, you can see there is a little brass retainer keeping the lock in place. Pry the front edge of the brass retainer up over the lip in the wood and slide the retainer back (It takes some force) and the lock will simply slide out with a bit of wiggling.
