V8 No Power To The Starter
V8 No Power To The Starter
06, v 8. 8 mth. old new oem starter. Key to start positon. No starter engagement. No noise or clicking. Cycle shifter lever 20 times from park to drive . Starts up . Starter will then work for some time. This issue has been going on for a week now. Acted up 2 times this week after 50 or starts. I scanned the computer. No fault codes. So that eliminates the computer module part# 30735597 maybe ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks VFL

I replaced the Antenna/immobilizer. The antenna goes around the ignition switch. You can see the key position on the switch. | || ||| . Look at the ignition were the key goes. The antenna senses the key in the ignition. It then puts power to the modules. So far so good. We have started it 30 + times in the last few days . All good .

Simple to replace . I disconnected the battery. Note sure if I needed to but electrical connection? 3 torx on the bottom side of the steering column. Pry cover were it is closest to steering wheel to separate lower from upper. Pry/push inward to release lower from upper. The lower cover slides toward the rear of the vehicle. Push clip on the antenna, wiggle at the push clip, rear of the switch (were the wire attaches) it will come off. Un plug wire , reverse order above for re assembly. I put the key in the ignition and for a second or so it didn't turn the lock cylinder. Then it worked . No need to visit the dealership to reflash the computer for above.
