For a 2005 V50 T5 auto AWD
Does anyone have experience replacing the positive battery cable on these models? Mine is corroded.
Can I buy just the positive cable? Is there much to replacing it?
I have not looked under the hood to see what's involved (except to determine it needs to be replaced.)
What is throwing me is that FCP is offering the replacement as a "harness" for (what I think) is way too much money and IPD offers a cable only that does not appear to fit my car.
V50 positive battery wire replacement?

Tasca only sells OE parts- so this is genuine Volvo- take a look at this for your car....you can use the part number and search the net further:
http://www.tascaparts.com/auto-parts/20 ... ttery-scat The official part is rather expensive...but I would go with what is actual than trying to make one up unless it's just the top of the cable that is corroded, then you might get by with that...the problem is that once corrosion sets in, it can run rather deep- it's like a fungus....best to get rid of the whole thing!
With the part number(s), some other places I would try are Rock Auto, Arizona Autohaus and even eBay or Amazon... You might just get lucky!
But I don't personally see a "harness," in my car...I wouldn't' think yours is any different than mine.

This V50 has spoiled me. I hardly ever need to do anything except throw brakes at it. I totally forgot Tasco.
Greatly appreciate the very thorough reply!
I 100% agree that OEM is the only way to go. I have had so many ridiculous problems using off brand parts...it's not worth it.
