Does throttle body need to be removed to access oil trap

My first post on this forum

I am replacing the oil trap on my naturally aspirated 2002 S60.

I am going to swing the manifold to one side to gain access, but want to know if I can leave the throttle body attached to it to save some time.

Yes, I believe you can...to give it more room to swing out, you will probably have to disconnect the electrical connector though.

I don't think I separated it from the intake besides this will preserve the gasket between the two (new gasket needed if removed), just undone the vacuum hoses, cables and intake pipe. You will need to pull the intake from the engine bay and to blow air into the lower block port to check it's not blocked. You will need a 1/4 or 3/8 swivel adapter for the left upper intake bolt and a new intake gasket. Perfect timing to replace the coolant thermostat if original and to clean the throttle body inside out.
