the trip odometer is reset automatically

look like i have a lot of problems for my 2004 volvo s80 car. one issue is related trip odometer, the trip odometer for my car now never can reach 1000 miles, it always reset to 0 when number go to around 300 to 400 miles, i even cannot catch which number it is reset to 0, i didn't push the reset button at all, this issue has been there for a while. anybody has this issue before? thank you.
