Replaced Alternator, belt won't fit, common errors?

Post by Faust »

2004 v70 I just replaced the alternator on my V70. No matter how hard I crank the tensioner pulley I can't get the belt on. Close, but no go. I am wondering if there are common errors in reassembly of alternator, A/c, or PS pump that would cause slight misalignment? My receipt indicates the correct belt (Dayco 6060724), I am going to dig through the trash for the belt "wrapper" in case there was an error.
