STC Switch and ABS Module

Post by Eastsidegeorgiaboy »

I have a 99 S70 T5 manual. It didnt come with STC Switch. I came from a 99 S70 T5 auto, that did have STC. I went to junkyard and grabbed a STC switch to go into my new 99 T5 manual. I hooked it up bit it does nothing. No big deal at the time. Months have gone by. Now my abs is failing. I want to replace the abs unit with a XeMODex unit. They have two options. Option one is $200 and is the unit for my car with no STC switch. Option 2 is $55 and is for cars with these different part #: 9472971, 9472401, 9496440, 9472088, 9472866. Now i am unsure if those 5 numbers are referring to the abs module or to the STC switch. The STC switch part # that is in my STC is 9459094. I could not find any switches with those 5 other part #. But some of those part# came back as abs modules. I just want to get the cheaper Xemodex abs unit as well as gain working STC. I thought I just needed any STC switch and a abs unit made for STC. Was I wrong? Is there only one STC part# 9459094? That's the only number that I get when I look at all the different STC switches for X70 cars. Thanks for your help.

Adding a stc switch and a abs/stc module will not give you working stc. It's a completely different abs pump assembly than your non-traction unit.

Unless you're interested in changing out a whole lot more than the module,
it sounds like you're better off just shipping the original ABS module to Matty
at Midwest and getting it rebuilt.

+1 on sending it to Matty. Lifetime warranty and much better price!

My 200 R did not come with the switch but was fitted with STC. In that case the PO removed the blanking plate and fitted the switch. In your case as the guys have said it is a bigger proposition.
