O ring + trans line is toast

Post by ktuuri »

Has anyone used these. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... or-6842413
My oil cooler lines did not leak, so I will reuse the ones for the oil.
For the Trans line I put one on and I can't seem to get the line back in, it's to tight.
I didn't want to force it and ruin the O ring, maybe it was the end of the day and my arms just didn't have the strength,
I don't know. This was the bottom line, as I think the top line is no good.

Also my top trans line, I went to wipe it clean, the insert with the O ring on it that goes into the rad , will spin right around freely as I hold the hose with my other had. All the other lines, trans + oil are solid. I'm thinking that the one that is spinning is toast and that was the leak .

I also got new clamps for the hoses, but by the time I get them over and behind the fitting, they are so spread out, is there a trick to it, or how do you put these on. :?

Hi Ken. The seals should be tight. Did you use oil on them to get them in?

Trick is to use zip ties on the cage to hold them in place. Make sure you have them orientated the correct way around!! I only used Volvo seals for this as I found the aftermarket ones I was supplied were variable. If you are still having problems give me a call later.

Neil.

Thanks Neil. I won't have time today. Tomorrow I will get back to it, going to Pick n Pull tomorrow to get another trans line.
