I have ignition switch problem (gotta wiggle the key to get the warning light off) on my 95 850, and I put a thread here a while ago, someone said that I should replace the ignition switch.i just received ignition switch from FTP groton. How do I replace it? What tools do I need?
I had a look on the steering housing, I am confused how do I open the housing??
If anyone can tell me step by step, it would be very much appreciated
Thanks
How to replace ignition switch?
the housing (aka clamshell) has 3 torx screws holding it. If you look under the housing you will see them. I think its a T25 and it is in there about 1" deep.. so make sure you get the longer bits or screwdriver.
Once you have that off you will see the ignition switch on the left side of it (opposite to where you put the keys in) Once this cover is off it will be much easier to see how to install it.
