I removed my climate control panel to replace a bulb and pulled my stereo to see how I could replace it and now I have an airbag warning message . How could anything near the radio mess with the airbag? :?:

The ECC is part of the computer system in the car, when the car detects something missing then it will trigger the SRS lamp. It's a dealer only reset.
If I paid attention to signs with little symbols I’d never find anywhere to park.

Seriously? If this car is smart enough to tell me when I have a bulb out then why can't it just see that everything is hooked back up now so it's all good. I can see if I had messed with the air bag ....but climate control and radio....

So Volvo wants $150 to reset the SRS light. How is there not some way to do this at home?

Find someone nearby with a decent Autel scanner, series 500'and up, and they can reset it for you.

Your car is 10 years past analog controls and circuits as are the rest of the 2006 line

Because this is the "safety first" car, and it detected airbag system malfunction. It suggests you to visit mechanic to make sure everything is safe.

The rest of us disconnect battery when we touch electronics. And a lot of Volvo DIYers have Chinese copies of DiCE scanner, which is able to reset SRS.

You MUST disconnect the battery before you work on the radios or the climate system.
Now you learned the hard way, if you had asked here first you would have been told what to do.
Many here will be glad to give you important pointers before you start to work on your Volvo.
