Torx T40? Those screws can break soo soak them in PB Blaster before you try to remove them.

Might be oversized but for sure it's one of them TORXs
I remember getting a set of them at Home Depot for $20 and they have been useful working on Volvos. Harbor Freight might have them as well.

Well it is 40 torx, so beigg gets the prize. lol
Well I was in my Garage, Neil called me for a chat and he said he thought it was 40.
In my one tool box I only have a few torx bits, forgot I have more in the other one.
I decided to let it sit overnight with PB Blaster on it.
Thanks for the quick reply's guys.

Get a good quality bit to break those thermostat bolts out. You do not want to strip them out.

I used one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/Gearwrench-Skt-T ... +t-40+LONG

Attached to a 3/8 breaker bar, with lots of PB, and heavy and even downwards/outwards pressure. Bolts came off nicely. I replaced them with my own water pump housing bolts.

I can not stress using a lot of PB blaster enough, I didn't use enough when I took mine off of my V70 and a quick 5 min. thermostat job turned into 2.5 hours getting a bolt with no head on it off.......
