Hi, after a hu-850 unit for my xc70. 2005.
If CD player is faulty it does not matter since my faulty head unit works just don't give out any sound only ticking in the speakers and disconnected the amp and still have it in the centre speaker.
Sound can just suddenly come one for a few sec and have no control to adjust the volume. Display is on and can change stations and so on.
Thinking of getting aftermarket but don't want to lose steering wheel feature and reverse censor feature, unless someone knows that there is harmed to get for this??!
Cheers
HU-850 ,after a unit.. display is on but no sound.

NO amp should be good since if i disconnect the amp i still have the same fault since the head unit is driving the center speaker in the console only and have the same issue without having the amp connected.

Sorry, i dont get it..
If i only having the radio connected and it is suppose to only run the center speaker without the amp and there is no sound how can the radio be ok then?? I should be able to run the radio and only have the center speaker going and be functional??!! the amp is not even in that circlet, only for the rest of the speaker.
So how can i check the radio then without the amp connected?
Sorry im not trying to be smart just trying to understand how the amp is faulty when the same problem is when it is disconnected-removed the fuse and the cable going in to the head unit.

Not sure if we're on the same page, try to articulate better.
The RADIO's teenie internal 10w amp runs the center speaker. The radio should work (center channel only) work on either 3 channel or Dolby.
If the sound position is set to off, (middle button) it should have no sound at all.
The underseat amp powers the remaining speakers
Try to borrow a good amp, plug it in and see.
If it still doesn't work THEN you probably have a bad radio.
Have you tried it In all 3 Sound Modes?
(I have a good 850 I'll sell you but I have to fix the plastic outer portion, someone managed to give it a minor crack)

Sorry my English might not be the best even tho i live in Australia but i am from Sweden.
Yes i have tried all canals by just having the radio connected without the amp and it is exactly the same as if i have the amp connected and tried all canals-all different and possible scenarios and with the same result.
If you have one for sale i am interested, i can use my facial
