Ever since I replaced the coolant tank(overflow bottle) a year ago, the light has stayed on continuously. I have replaced the level sensor twice(new ones), and the coolant tank once, since then. Light stays on.
With engine running and using a screwdriver to push down on the float in the tank, the light goes off. Release the float and light soon comes on again.
Could this be some kind of electrical problem, and how do I check that?
Thanks.

You really should figure that out. I would say that it IS an electrical problem.

If I'm not mistaken, the light should go ON if you push down... and off when it comes up. You're saying it does the opposite?

I bought replacement tank, had same problem, looks like magnet was not strong enough in float.
Was going to send it back asap, but did not want to drain and put old one back.
Pulled sensor out of bottom, taped magnet onto sensor, then light is out ever since.
I am running waterless coolant, so not afraid of overheats, may buy another if I feel like it

Magnet on float hits end of sensor and tells it water is high enough to turn off light.
Just got junk tank, will pull shit brand one with oem and problem will go away.
Next time I will test before install
