2004 S80 T6 Ice White

Post by June » Sun Aug 07, 2016 8:45 pm

Up until this year my car has never had a repair. Just routine maintenance, 3000 miles per oil change (synthetic only ), break shoes once, and it's 3rd set of tires, and 2 batteries, oh and replacement radiator cap immediately upon delivery to me. Since the 1998 V70 GT and all it's nightmare cooling system leaks which my dealer mechanic put a black cap for a 1990 240 that stopped all the problems. So both Volvos since I threw the green cap away and replaced it with a new black one from the parts department. All repairs have been performed by a dealer service department only. I am taking time to put this up as no T6 S80 cars seem to be listed in this section. Now I made the decision to put the repairs needed earlier this year when I hit 110,xxx and it was time for the timing belt service, and all at once the two outer axle boots cracked, and suspension rubber parts were standing to show cracking making a $5000.00 repair needed. I just don't want to drive anything but a twin charge 6 cylinder T6 Volvo. I had a 2002 S80 T6 which I rolled into a field and both me and the dog stepped out without a scratch, and it's replacement which is the 2004. That brings us to this year and I will list each ticket separate as I have done a lot of maintenance so far this year and will post everything here on out.

After endless battle with Volvo over the On Call which has been not supported forever, really upsetting me. Much worse has been the endless messages on dash to renew subscription. Yes Volvo sold me a option that they should have upgraded the equipment in my opinion, but I finally got someone at Volvo USA to send my dealer info to stop messages. I argued forever over this problem.

While in Tampa visiting car started leaking oil so I had it repaired at Tampa Volvo. I don't have this ticket as I had it put in my file at Osteen Volvo for future warranty on replaced seals.
Rear cam seals replaced and oil change
Bill was around $450.00

Also during the trip to Tampa my sisters indi mechanic wrecked her transmission in her 2005 S80 T6 by using multiple vehicle atf +4 it died driving home from service. To prove a point I watched him every second while he preformed the same fluid and filter change only I brought the fluid. Walmart brand was all I could find clearly marked Dextron III plus Volvo filter kit. My transmission still had the factory fill. I didn't have Tampa Volvo flush it when they fixed the cam seals but I drove it straight to Osteen Volvo which is the next ticket to be sure the correct Volvo fluid went back in.
That indi plus fluid+filter I bought was about $250.00
I did see the pan interior plus magnet the moment it came off and it was clean at 12 years and 112,xxx miles.
