I am needing to know which of the wires going from the harness to the Oxygen Sensor and should have no continuity. There are four wires. Is it the green with black stripe? (a friend and I have tested and are not convinced).
And is there a schematic of the wires anywhere?
95 Volvo 850, non turbo, manual transmission, DOHC, Canada
thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by "which of the wires going from the harness to the Oxygen Sensor and should have no continuity".
There are 4 wires coming from the sensor to the harness. The two white wires are the heater circuit and they mate up to the Green wire and the Black wire on the car harness. It makes no difference which white wire goes to the respective harness wires, it is not polarity sensitive.
The black wire from the sensor is the signal wire and it mates up to the Green/Black wire.
The gray wire from the sensor is the ground wire and it mates up to the Green/Gray wire in the harness.
I'm not sure if that answered your question or not.

Thanks so much. I feel the mechanic helping me and I needed a confirmation. We did it right.
We're installing a Hyzor/Efie from http://www.eagle-research.com/ on my vehicle ( a Brown's Gas device using distilled water to supplement fuel.)
George Wiseman the developer at eagle-research is a Volvo guy and yet has older vehicles. I live four hours from him and have a retired mechanic (not Volvo) who is helping me do the install. Actually he's doing the install, I read the info and hand him tools.
We are fine tuning the unit. I hope it to make a difference in my gas mileage. It's my intention to keep supporting new technologies to lessen our dependence on fossil fuel.
I so appreciate this forum which I am new to..... as the 850 is new to me. I love the car and love the forum.

I'm very curious about this device. Please let us know either way if it really saves you fuel or not.

When I get the 'kinx' ironed out of the unit..... I will post a new listing about the Hyzor/Efie and let you all know how it's going.
I like George a lot. He also has an amazing 'welder' that runs on water. I like his attitude and his sharing of his research.

I mentioned a 'welder' from George Wiseman at eagle-research, it is actually called a water torch.

Water injection was popular in the 40's to the 70's but we had to quit using it when all the engines starting coming with aluminum heads. The steam would cause erosion of the aluminum and eventually ruin the head. I ruined the head on a BMW 2002.I just heard about water injection in the early 70's just as all the cars were going to aluminum and had no way of knowing the dangers until we tried it. It worked ok in my 66 Chevy PU with all iron straight 6, but the mileage increase was barely noticeable. Cow magnets worked much better and were easier and cheaper to install.

I sent the quote to George Wiseman "Water injection was popular in the 40's to the 70's but we had to quit using it when all the engines starting coming with aluminum heads. and George responded:
I've never heard of this before and would relegate it into the urban myth area. I'm not sure what is causing his damage or what 'all the engines' means but aluminum is totally compatible with water. It has to be, because the byproduct of gasoline combustion is water and a LOT of it. A gallon of gasoline makes 9 gallons of water. Water injection only adds a fraction of that amount and actually reduces the total volume of water the engine has to handle, because as you replace fuel with water, the volume of water formed by the combustion of gasoline is reduced.
