I would advise the rear end in the air, with full suspension drop. That's the only way I have done it.

I have the whole car in the air just now, but will re-position the rear jack stands to allow the suspension to drop and re-assess. Thanks for the heads-up!

Please take some pics of the hoses, I am curious how they hold up, I can barely see mine.

If you replace them a DIY would be great, I haven't seen a fully detailed one.

Sure, dropping the suspension is the way to go, but...

No need to drop the suspension as long as you do exactly what I said above, remove the whole thing as a unit, from the Y-connector to the RR caliper as a single entity.

Thanks for all the input. I will take pictures and do a how-to if I decide to tackle this. I really need to figure out the oil pan issue first and get the car on the road to see if there are any other nasty surprises. If time allows I will then get back to the brakes.

Hey CN, long time no “see”!
Allow me to clarify what I meant by “dropping the delta link”…
If the jacks are placed at the rear side of the frame securely rather than under the delta link, the delta link will drop down about a couple of inches by its own weight.

Yeah, "full suspension drop" and "dropping the suspension" are completely different things.

"Dropping the suspension" is definitely *not* the way to go out of the gate, that is far more work than may be necessary.

For someone with Neil's experience, this is just another standard repair, he can take the usual approach: start with heat and smarts and the right tools to just remove the fastener (fitting), if that doesn't work then back up to a more elaborate approach like first removing the whole line from the car. As a very, very last resort one could drop the suspension, I guess.

That will be my approach, but I have bigger fish to fry first....!

Thanks,
