hello everyone,
not a newbie with the "volvo six", but new here...
my v90 now got its more than 400.000 km on the clock , so no justified complaint about the oil leak from the rear side of the engine......that looks like a failing rear main crankshaft seal....but the oil source is above. just cleaned/steamwashed all the suspicious area to be definetly sure...but it "smells" like a leaking rear camshaft seal.
yesterday I tried to get at least a glimps to the concerning area with the help of a mirror and a torch....accessability a bit more than zero.
people wrote they had already done this job via mirror, dentist pliers....is this really true?
on the other hand:
removing the valve cover to get access to the cams/the camshaft seals is not really the alternative one would be dreaming of...
anybody out there who`s got his experience with this issue?
any advice appreciated.
best regards
christopher
