I was just unable to get fuel into my 04 C70. Would click off immediately. Took abt 10 minutes to get two gallons in. I changed out the fuel filter in front of the rear right tire. Also Try filling gas with car running. That also worked a little better. So far my issue appears to be solved. Filled the tank today with no problem.

Ok, that's weird. I know there's an issue in the P80s with a relief hose at the fuel filler, but changing the filter wouldn't change that. Cue the Twilight Zone..

Abscate I hear what you are saying but that is all I did and the prob resolved. Will report back here if the problem returns. I read everywhere on MVS and on other forum too. Consensus was roll over valve or the big vapor canister as the issue. I figured if throwing parts at a problem blindly it's better to start at the cheapest parts and then go up in cost. Fuel filter was first and so far prob solved. And the best part is the car has 96K so it is a normal maint item needing service anyway. Anyone with this same issue I recommend start with the fuel
filter if it is original.

I'm going to stretch and say changing the fuel filter out jostled the wires to the curt tiff or rollover valves and made them work again, so keep that it memory in case the fill problem returns

For that matter I have seen many people go the hard way to fix many issues. I would bet some new ac evaporator's could have been avoided if people started with the easy stuff first. Just saying why go for the worst case scenario first. Doing the fuel filter appears (so far) to have saved me time and money.

FWIW I was under the car tonight doing subframe bushings and noticed that the fuel filter is really, really rusty. I have in my records the purchase of a new filter many years ago, but no record of installing it. I vaguely recall working on it myself then giving up with rusted bolts and asking my mechanic to do it, but it's so rusty I wonder if we ever actually did. May be time for a new one again anyhow.

They do get blamed too often for poor running when they are not the cause.
