I can't find any loose connections or anything unplugged. So digging around online I found a PNP wiring diagram, looks like there are possibly some inline fuses going to the connector so I guess I'll plug around the fuse box. If I can't figure this out soon a big red for sale sign is going up in the window!

The thing that kicks me is that I can rotate the PNP from max to max adjustment and there is no loss of reverse lights like I see everyone dealing with. I even put the trans in neutral and rotated it thinking I may come into range but the lights never came on. I can sit there all day and rotate the switch back and forth all I want and the lights stay on as long as it's in gear, weird.

Will this scanner read transmission codes? I've used a guy I know across town who has one but would like to have my own. My scanner wont read trans codes.

That won't work. You'll need something like Vol-FCR and a VAG-COM KKL cable. Little info on this thread here: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =1&t=68710Z06killinsbf wrote:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001L ... B001LHVOVK

So you've got the PNP switch plugged in and the key in position 2; you're saying no matter which way the center shaft is turned inside of the PNP switch your reverse lights are always on? Where is the shifter set to?Z06killinsbf wrote:The thing that kicks me is that I can rotate the PNP from max to max adjustment and there is no loss of reverse lights like I see everyone dealing with. You mentioned this isn't a Volvo part but I don't think you said who made it. I think sometimes our faith in Volvo parts may be misplaced but for electrical components staying OEM is worth it.
I know how frustrating this can be as I had to deal with a similar issue last Spring. It would be best if you could pull the transmission codes but without towing it to a dealer that will prove difficult.

Shifter in reverse or neutral I believe. I can manually shift the trans itself using a wrench and once it clicks into reverse it lights the lights.

I'm not sure, I picked it up off of Rockauto.

I had bent a pin while reconnecting the wiring harness.
When revisited the pnp...I noticed the bent pin. Fixed that. All was good since.

Does anyone have a copy of Vol-frc software? I'm wary of downloading an from an unknown source. I just ordered the cable listed above. Thanks everyone
