850 central locking draining battery

Not so.
There are no sensors that tell this relatively simple
security system if the doors are locked or not.
It just ships out lock and unlock pulses.

I've had my 850 drain the battery dead trying to engage a door lock that was not functioning correctly.

So what was the fix?

Cleaned and lubricated the locking mechanism for the door causing the hang-up.

well , after much head scratching , we have narrowed it down to the drivers side rear door lock....

when you lock the car it locks the door , but something is not right as its humming , only very faintly i couldn't hear it at all !

so we figure this must be the cause of the drain , as if you don't lock the car its fine you could leave it 2-3 weeks until the battery runs out of juice just enough to start her up.

Take brake parts cleaner, then wd40, and an old tooth brush to the moving parts that make it secured. Blast it with some compressor air following it all by an application of synthetic silicone grease to those cleaned up parts.
