Steering Wheel Airbag

Steering Wheel Airbag

Hi guys need a little help please,

I have been trying to remove the steering wheel airbag so I can get to the clock-spring etc,
Now I can locate the tabs accessed from the two holes and can feel/hear them move, but the airbag will not release, no matter how gentle or hard I try...I have a 2005 model, is there something different about 2005 models? Maybe an extra step because after 2hrs I had to give up. :o :?

Turn wheel 90 degrees off straight ahead and then insert a TX25 driver (not for bit size but due to this tool not having a blade or point like screwdrivers have) straight in. Move handle up, towards roof, so the shaft moves down while also pulling on that edge of airbag. Once released then turn steering wheel 180 degrees past center to 90 degrees off for the other direction and repeat the same release procedure. The catch spring lever is inboard of the pin it latches to so you have to push it further inboard to release.

Thanks Jimmy, I have been trying with a flat blade do I'll give that a whirl at the weekend :)
