In 99% of the cases I've had a repair job involving the use of OEM replacement parts, the factory production part is often not the same as the dealer supplied part. Even though it's "OEM" issued from the dealership's parts/service center, it very well may not be the same.

Got it straight from the factory, huh? Didn't know they had one in Serbia. What I do know, is that I went to Volvo and asked for 2 new hatch gas springs. Kilen is what they gave me.

Sommerfeldt......those are factory struts which i removed from my car because they couldn't keep the tailgate opened anymore.
When i say factory struts....i mean that they were originally installed in the factory when the car was built.

Btw....

This is the last time i was proving something to you.If you want to take advice,or experience take it....if you don't ....it's your choice.

What exactly is your diagnosis? I said it was weird, because Volvo gave me Kilen gas springs when I went there to get a pair of new ones. What's so hard for you to understand?
And as for proving things, I don't think your track record is something to be in awe and wonder at.

Problem is that whatever i say or claim...you show up and claim the opposite....even if i show you the facts or pictures.

About diagnosis....i wonder the same thing about you. ;)

You ask me what is hard to me to understand something?

How hard is for you to accept other's people opinion,or you always have a need to be in right?Even if you don't.
I don't get it.

I changed mine about two months ago and the ones I got from Rock Auto were a 16th of an inch or so too short. No matter what I did I could not get them on at first. I then ordered a OE set out of Phoenix. Rock Auto gave me a refund and said to not send them back, and while waiting for the OE set I tried once more using adjustable jaw pliers to get a bite on the ball socket. Worked great! So now I have a free set that is on the car and working great and an extra OE set. The OE set is exactly the length of the ones I took off but now superfluous. I sent them back for $4.00 in shipping and got a refund. So for $4 I got new lift struts. Hopefully they last more than two years though I don't recall the brand I got, will have to check my receipt.

I haven't claimed a single thing - I said the ones I got from Volvo when I needed new gas springs (as I've said numerous times already) were Kilen, not Stabilus. Maybe you should, as you're so fond of telling others, read the thread? I'm wrong on numerous occasions, usually on a daily basis, but what I do know, is that I think it's weird that Volvo gave me Kilen gas springs, if Stabilus is the OEM. Doesn't matter what you got in some factory or other - Kilen's what's sitting on my car, and Kilen was what Volvo gave me. In my case, what beigg said is probably the case - but I still think it's weird that they would do that.

Oh, and if I contradict you on something, it's either because I think you're mistaken, or because I think you've omitted something. Or, if I think you're being rude when you simply leave a  as a reply to something.
