Comment: Hi,
I would like to buy a steering rack seal kit for my Volvo V70 D5 from 2002.
But it seems to be different steerings mounted on this model and the parts store is asking this to me:
"Unfortunately there are several kits listed for the V70
Firstly to try and narrow it down a little, we would need to know the manufacture of your rack
It will either be TRW SMI or ZF
If it is the ZF unit we need to know if the vehicle has non-servotronic steering or servotronic steering."
Could someone please tell me which steering rack is mounted on my V70 via the VIN I can let you now on MP ?
Thank you for your reply so I can order and repair the leak on the steering as soon as possible, it's leaking a lot :/
Which Steering rack on my 2002 V70 ?

You need to crawl under it and get the numbers off the rack

Hi JRL,
Thank you for your answer !
The problem is I don't have the place to work under the car, and first, to have the access to the rack and pick up the part number, I have to get out the cover under the engine, and without the place to do it, I can't...
So that's why I asked if anyone could found it via my VIN number, so I don't have to get to the mechanic (1/2hour from home), so he lift up the car, get the cover off, etc...
If I don't have the choice, I think that's I m going to do, but if someone here could save me the trip to the mechanic, I will be very grateful...
