I have done that several times - on a flat surface, by pulling the drain plug you will get 3.5 US quarts.

3 1/2 or up to 4 Liters....I typically these days, do the drain, get in the car and start the engine (still in park) and let it run for like 10 seconds and another 1/2 liter comes out....typically 4Liters total this way for sure.
