Pulled the codes and it looks like I'm just getting the P0303 which I think is a cylinder #3 misfire. Also the Check engine light is on...Then then I really get on the throttle, the car bogs down and the CEL light starts flashing at me! The car definetly doesn't like something thats going on!

Then you know what your next plan of action is. No. 3 coil is either barely functioning or is dead, which explains the bogging down part. Go grab a new or used coil on plug to swap out with the suspect coil. Take the cover off and see what's going on with it's connection and wire condition. If all appears well, swap the coils and hopefully your problem is solved. Might be a great time to change all your plugs out too if its been awhile. Pencil in an oil change as well since it's been getting that raw gasoline diluting it from no. 3.
Always first off the line, while all the cool people are still staring at their phones.

Swap your Number 2 and 3 coil and see if the misfire code moves, first. Quick check before throwing parts.

Thanks alot for the help... yep, that was what I was going to do. I took the cover off already and looked at the coils and connections, besides the plastic convolute all dried and cracked, everything looks good.
Could you guys tell me off hand what the order is on the cylinders from left to right? I'm sure I could look it up real quick too, just thought you guys could tell me quick if you know.
Thanks again,
-Matt

HaHaHa, thanks...abscate wrote:Number 1 at front if engine, that's the passenger side in Cleveland.
Well it worked. I swapped out the #3 coil with my other S70, (my winter car that im not driving now), and the issue went away. So now I'll order a new set of coild and plugs so I don't have to worry about this issue again. That only leaves me with the massively leaking power steering!
Thanks for the advice guy's. Saved me a lot of money!

Excellent work Red Team. The coils on the RWD S70 are known to fail at 200k....
