940 stalls out

1994 volvo 940 base.

Had this problem before, I drive awhile and car stalls out taking turns or just straight away.Always restarts. Happen to my daughter who is a new driver and about freaked her out as she stalled out in a intersection.

I replaced the crank position sensor in 2009. Solved the problem. Now its happening again and i ordered another one, but could anything esle be happening if this doesnt solve the problem? The sensor looks good from what I see no burns or frays, but havent taken it out yet.

I will add that this time around i was able to get it to my destination by driving it in 2nd gear with no stall. I never did that before.

My 91 740 did the same, random stalls, especially going around corners at first, maybe because that's the time you back off the peddle slightly. I did the second gear thing as well as both feet on the peddles while my gf screamed.
After putting it off for so long everything just quit.
Ended up being the fuel relay switch.
If in working mode you can feel the relay click if you stick your hand up in behind the ashtray putting a finger on it as you turn the key (91 740 for sure}
No click?? Failed fuel relay sensor. ( in my case for sure)

Pop open distributor cap, and check out rotor and cap's inside.

And yes, replacement with Bosch quality ONLY

Does this tend to only happen when there is less than a 1/2 tank of fuel? If so, I would be keen to check operation of the in-tank fuel pump as it may not be supplementing the underbody, inline fuel pump as it should. The two fuel pumps should be on the same fuse circuit so if one works then they both should be operational.
