2002 V70 2.4T engine compatiblity

Post by Canadian Moose »

I picked up a 2002 V70 2.4T with a seized engine. Engine ran low on oil and spun a rod bearing. I am now looking for a replacement engine.

What engines can I swap in without much trouble? Is there an engine interchange list? I am not looking to gain any additional power, basically just want to get the car on the road. Can I use a 2.3T or 2.5T from a newer car and just bolt up my existing turbo and accessories? Are there any differences between FWD and AWD engines?

I know some newer engines run VVT on both intake and exhaust cams. My 2.4T has VVT only on exhaust cam. Would I newer motor that has dual VVT swap into my car? Can I simply leave the intake VVT unplugged or is there more to it than that?

No one? Ok I'll ask a more direct question. Will 2005 XC90 2.5T AWD B5254T2 swap over without issues? My question regarding dual VVT remains. Can I simply leave the intake VVT unplugged?
